Glug xhibit - Nov 2019

I have started to regularly attend the Glug Xhibit evenings most commonly held at Duke Street Studios in Leeds as a way finding out about the creative scene up North and building my network with other creatives.

  • The illustrated book of film making
  • Struggles with colour within his work
  • Refined a colour palette of approx 100 colours to 20 and now uses this for everything
  • These colour palettes were based on monthly Pinterest boards - paradigm aesthetic = Pinterest
  • add lots of detail initially and then remove and simplify 
  • If you over work - it’s okay to go backwards

Lessons:
  • Northern identity is a myth
  • It’s a powerful myth
  • The grey is important and needs to be explored
  • Don’t care if it’s design or not 
  • Suffer from imposters syndrome
  • Less scared of putting yourself out there
