Why do you want to work in Urban Outfitters?
Apart from the really obvious answer of loving Urban Outfitters as a fashion brand, I also really like the way in which it promotes an overall aesthetic lifestyle predominately relying on the ‘trendy’ digital marketing resources. I would like to be part of the Urban Outfitters team because I have always admired the friendly, efficient and creative manner in which I have been cared for in store; showing the company to have a work ethic that I would also happily embrace.
The ability to react quickly and multitask is something I feel as though I have really developed over the 3 years on the Graphic Design BA Hons course at Leeds Arts University as the modules are set up to overlap and really test us in the same way that we would be working in in the design industry both individually and collaboratively.
As part of my freelance practice I am currently working on a number of digitally centred creative projects which all require attention to detail in terms of adapting from print to digital. I have really thrived on the creation of a festival branding and ensuring that the visual identity is on trend to the target audience of 18-30 year olds, students in particular. I researched into the current trends by extensively sourcing the most popular social media accounts, the on brand fashion accounts and other digital medias such music videos. I was the sole designer for this project so I was given a lot of creative freedom, but the consideration of the current brand identity and ethos was a strong driving point for the design outcomes along with the opinions of a team of business members - all of which had very differing opinions. The project required a very quick turnaround to ensure that the promotion period could be as long as possible and  all outcomes needed to be delivered to the client to be used appropriately on every possible digital and print platform available - a strong understanding of web technologies and standards has now been obtained.
